What is physical therapy?
Physical Therapist are specially trained in the examination and treatment of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular problem that affect a person’s ability to move and function efficiently in his/her daily life. A Physical Therapist can help reduce pain and restore function for patients with injuries, as well as provide preventative programs & promote general health and fitness.
How long are the appointments?
The first appointment is approximately one hour. After that, they can arrange anywhere from 20 minutes to 1 hour, depending on how you feel.
What health insurance do you accept?
We accept most major insurances. Please call us and we’ll gladly check with your insurance company.
What can I expect on my first visit?
The therapist will ask you about the history of your injury. Depending on your injury, we may take measurements, and depending on you pain level, we may even start treatment on your first visit. Please be 15 mins early to your first appointment in order to fill out paperwork so that you can maximize your allotted time with your physical therapist.
What should I wear?
Something comfortable, loose, easily movable for us to be able to get to the area in pain. For example: if you are coming in for knee pain, please bring or wear shorts, or baggy pants that can be pulled up over the knee.
How long should I expect to have PT?
We believe the each person has unique needs. All patients are carefully evaluated and then are recommended an appropriate treatment plan. At the time of your evaluation, we will be better able to determine an effective timeframe for your treatment.
What is my responsibility when undergoing Physical Therapy?
Physical therapy requires the co-participation of the therapist and patient. It is vital that the patient keep their appointments. For a condition to improve, a patient needs to come to therapy and follow through with their exercise program as the home exercise program will help to speed recovery.
