Dry needling is a physical therapy technique where therapists use a small filament needle to stimulate soft tissue to help to decrease pain/dysfunction. Dry needling has been a very successful technique in helping to reduce patient’s pain levels and allow other physical therapy treatments to be more beneficial. These treatments can be performed by just needling soft tissue or by adding electric stimulation to the needles based on what you and your physical therapist determines to be appropriate. If this treatment is an option for you after your evaluation, then your physical therapist will discuss this option in more depth at one of your follow up appointments.
